Privacy Policy

This policy covers VIVAtools at vivatools.pt, VIVAlanguage at language.vivatools.pt, and VIVAholiday at holiday.vivatools.pt. They are operated by Daniel Mattrazzo, based in Portugal. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@innovationbooksellers.com.

What the sites do

The sites do not require visitor accounts and contain no contact forms, advertising trackers, or application analytics. They do not ask for names, addresses, or other identifying details. Language coaching takes place on linked ChatGPT or Gemini services. The sites do not receive the prompts you enter there.

Preferences and browser storage

Your chosen settings work without saving them for future visits. Session storage remembers choices within the current browser tab. Each site manages its own preferences.

If you enable Remember my preferences, that site saves preferences for up to one year from your agreement. VIVAtools and VIVAlanguage use localStorage keys viva-theme and viva-language for appearance and language. VIVAholiday uses portugal-theme and a portugal_preferences cookie for appearance, language, temperature units and limits, activity limits, selected places and weather stations, and map settings. The cookie accompanies requests to the VIVAholiday hosting server. These values do not contain your name or contact details.

The viva-session-preferences sessionStorage key holds current-tab choices. The viva-preferences-consent localStorage key records your saving choice and its expiry for one year, including when you decline saving. This record is used only to manage that choice. Persistent preferences are no longer used after expiry. Expired localStorage entries are removed when you next visit, since browsers do not automatically expire localStorage.

Use Privacy settings in the footer to change your choice or delete saved preferences. Turning saving off deletes persistent preferences on that site and leaves current-tab choices usable. You can also clear browser storage. Optional persistence relies on your consent. Storage needed to remember your requested choices within a tab and manage your privacy choice serves those functions.

Hosting, security, and maps

The sites are hosted through ChatGPT Sites. OpenAI and its service providers process technical information needed to deliver and secure the sites, such as IP addresses and request, browser, or device information. Hosting security measures may use cookies or browser signals to prevent abuse. This is separate from optional preference saving. We do not use hosting data for application analytics or advertising.

VIVAholiday’s map loads tiles directly from OpenStreetMap. Terrain mode also requests elevation tiles from AWS. These providers receive connection information, including your IP address and the requested resources. Map requests are made when the map loads or changes. Choosing no data overlay does not turn off the base map.

Processing necessary to deliver and secure these free tools is based on our legitimate interests in providing a functioning, secure service. OpenAI’s processing on our behalf is governed by the applicable Data Processing Addendum. Relevant information is available in the OpenStreetMap privacy policy, AWS privacy notice, and Cloudflare privacy policy. Hosting and map processing may occur outside the European Economic Area. Applicable contractual and data-transfer safeguards govern processing on our behalf. We do not specify provider log-retention periods or processing locations that we cannot verify.

Links, correspondence, and your rights

Linked services have their own privacy policies. If you email us, we use your email address, message, and any information you include to answer and handle your request. Our email provider processes the correspondence to deliver that service. We retain it only as long as needed to handle the request and any applicable legal obligations. Handling correspondence is based on our legitimate interests in responding, and legal obligations where applicable. Contact information is not used for marketing.

Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email the address above. You may also complain to Portugal’s National Data Protection Commission (CNPD). Browsing and providing contact information are voluntary.

Terms of Service

VIVAtools provides free language-learning and Portugal-related tools for general information and personal use. Translations, pronunciation guidance, and travel information may contain errors or become outdated. Check important information before relying on it.

Use the tools lawfully and do not interfere with their operation. Availability and features may change or be discontinued. Linked services are governed by their own terms.

Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit. Portuguese law applies, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
